What you can Expect From your New Patient Visit

When you call our office in Columbus, Ohio at (614) 848-5001, our front desk receptionists, Kathy or Barbara, will greet you. They will provide you with forms to fill out, either by mail or the Internet. Filling these forms out before coming to the office will make your first visit more efficient and will help us treat you and other patients in a timely fashion.

Our receptionists will direct you to our office and ask that you arrive a bit early if you haven’t had a chance to fill out the forms.

Dr. Firouzian will start your visit by talking to your about your reasons for visiting our office. We want to understand whether you have a specific procedure in mind or certain goals. We also want to understand whether you are in our office because of functional problems, aesthetic concerns, or are just looking for a new dental home for you and your family.

Next, Dr. Firouzian will conduct an evaluation of your mouth and teeth. This exam will always be consistent with ensuring your teeth, gums, and jaws are in good health and functional. Depending on the concerns and goals you express, additional items may be added.

For example, if you are concerned about jaw function, we may assess your temporomandibular joints and jaw muscles as well. For cosmetic concerns, we may take digital images of your smile to help us document and measure the starting point for your smile makeover.

No matter what your goals, Dr. Firouzian will typically develop not one, but multiple treatment plans that can help you meet your goals depending on other conditions like budget, when you want your results to be ready, and your personal preferences.

We will offer information to help you understand the problems we find and our treatment recommendations. Before you go, one of our hygienists will escort you to the front desk to schedule your next appointment. Our treatment coordinators will help you plan a convenient schedule for treatment.

We will also help you understand options to overcome barriers to dental care. Sedation dentistry can help anxious patients be calm to get their desired dental care. Financial services can help if your budget prevents you from getting desired or necessary dental care.

At Firouzian Dentistry, we are always happy to welcome new patients. We would love to welcome you to be a part of our ever-expanding dental family.
